Brno municipal elections will be taking place on October 10 and 11 and some foreigners can vote too.

At the Brno Expat Centre we would like to inform the expats living in Brno about the municipal politics and go over the parties’ election promises.

Questions to cover:
Who are the candidates for the Brno’s mayor?
What can candidate parties offer to foreigners living here and to the international development of the city?
What are the wishes and complains of foreigners towards the city infrastructure and strategy?

Speakers:

Stanislav Balík, head of the Department of Political Science at the Faculty of Social Studies of Masaryk University;
Don Sparling, a Canadian living in the city for over 40 years;
…and perhaps even candidates running for the Brno City Council as guests.

BEC would like to collect your wishes and complaints and pass it over to the newly elected city council.

EU citizens with PERMANENT or TEMPORARY residence status who are registered in the electorate register can vote as well. We will briefly explain the procedure at the seminar - where to register and how to vote.

The event is free of charge for the BEC members. As usual, there will be a raffle and a gift for the winner. With further questions please contact kopkas@brnopolis.eu.

No need to sign up in advance but we will appreciate if you indicate your will to attend the event via the Facebook event.
