About Hradec Kralove
Hradec Králové is situated in the east north of the Czech Republic. It has around 100 000 inhabitans and it is the 6th largest city of Czech Republic. There was a long history, it was king´s town - here comes its name: "Hradec" comes from "hrad" and it means castle. "Králové" is from the word "král" and it means "king".
In 1866 there was also quite important battle between Prussia and Austria next to the Hradec. After long battle on the 3th of July the prussian army won the battle. This meant that Prussia got majority over Austria.
In Hradec Kralove you can find a lot of interesting places from the history. Typical architecture from Jan Kotěra - famous czech architect. You can see typical brick facade. You can also see the impact of another famous architect Josef Gočár. He built few interesting building as old grammar school, repaired and improved Masaryk´s square and some town´s hall buildings (now Magistrat mesta etc.).
Hradec Králové was also voted as the best place for living in Czech Republic. There were many reasons. Nice city, good salaries, employement rate, culture. Enough supermarkets, outlets, shops. Not far away to the mountains, nice countryside around Hradec Kralove etc..
